A Southampton student had £30,000 worth of watches, handbags and electrical goods stolen from their student flat.

A University of Southampton student had their flat ransacked in Archers Road between 13th and 16th May. The student had left Southampton for several days to visit friends and returned to find seven handbags and a £10,000 Patek Phillipe watch stolen. The bags included a small purple Chanel clutch and a black Chanel shoulder bag.

They also managed to rob a laptop, iPad and a haul of jewellery including necklaces and earring designed by VCA.

It is believed thieves gained entry to the flat in St Anne’s Gate through an unlocked window and stole the bags and watch which were on display on a shelf.

st annes gatePolice are warning students to keep windows and doors locked to prevent opportunist robbers from striking again.

Anyone with information on the robbery or may have been offered the items for sale of seen them for sale online should contact PSI Kelly Godden at Shirley police station on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Who has a £10k and goes to Southampton… when you could go to better places on Earth…

    Jewellery and necklaces? Typical student.

And he probably lives sharing a shitty house in Archers Road… he might deserved it!

I reckon that 99% of the students don’t know what a Patek Phillipe, in fact, probably only the Vice-Chancellor knows. Maybe he was his son!

You’re assuming 1) those uni’s cover the subject she wanted to study 2) She didn’t apply to said uni’s 3) perhaps she likes Southampton, has friends or relatives her etc. Not to mention that Southampton are leaders in Engineering and naval subjects, has use of NOC and so on. Your snobbery is misplaced Sir

if you’ve got a £10k watch and bring it to university (especially Southampton) then quite frankly you deserve to have it stolen. if it was uninsured as well.. just lol.

That’s like saying that if a girl where’s a short skirt she deserves to be raped. She must be kicking herself for leaving her window unlocked but nobody deserves to have their stuff stolen!

Leaving £30k worth of valuables, including a £10k watch, on display with an unlocked window whilst you’re out of the city? Correct me if I’m wrong but we appear to have a moron in our midst.
