A somber Southampton student has had his car stolen from right outside his home just days before Christmas.

The 20 year-old Southampton student Ben Wheldon-Bayes, known to his friends as Well Done-Babes, parked his car outside his Reading home only to find it missing a few hours later.

The third year Civil Engineering student drove home for Christmas from his house on Belmont Road in Southampton last week after returning from Les Arcs for the SUSSC Ski Trip.

The vintage car is a classic 30 year-old brown Austin Mini named Edna, after the registration B335 EDA.  It went missing sometime between 6.30pm and 2am on 21st December.

Ben has made an appeal on Facebook to try to find Edna.

Missing mini 2

Ben’s post on Facebook has now reached over a phenomenal 30,000 shares by friends and strangers.

This is the last photo taken of Edna

In the post Ben says he “cannot offer a reward but will shower you with love and affection” for any knowledge of the whereabouts of Edna.

And that’s not all, gutted Ben then realised:

Fuck! Just realised I left a new pair of shoes in the boot.

Ben having fun on the ski trip last week…if only he knew what was to come

On speaking to the Soton Tab, all Ben ‘Well Done-Babes’ could manage was:

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a Christmas miracle.

Please help find Edna! If you know anything email us at

    Cheers!

Would be nice if I wasn’t judged for the way I spend my own money. Actually had a job stacking bread at ASDA and my parents didn’t spend a penny of their own money funding my car. I then got a paid scolarship over the summer to pay for insurance, something I haven’t been able to afford since going to uni and quitting my job. Any more criticisms get at me via facebook message and show your pathetic face.

Nah, payed for my tashed up bellend with my own money.

I live entirely within my means. My parents are retired university lecturers and my mum now works for a charity who reward sustainable energy projects in developing countries. Read more: The Ashden Awards. She is the most giving, caring and selfless woman I know but in no way funds an egotistical life you seem to have fabricated for me.

Climbing Kilimanjaro is one of those things that I don’t consider in the least bit giving – you get other people to pay for your trip out there with a portion of the money actually going to those in need.

All I’ve done is created a facebook post and had an article created about me. Are you actually insinuating that I deserve to have a car that I paid for with my own money stolen from me?

Unless you’d like to talk to me face to face, I would ask you keep your invalid and irrelevant opinions to yourself and fix your atrocious grammar and spelling. Oh, and it’s ‘mum’ not ‘mom’.

I did Kilimanjaro. It was a fantastic experience and paid for electric wheelchairs for 5 disabled children. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Also, the weirdo who suggested you deserved to have your car stolen is very likely to be a social misfit and I seriously recommend psychiatric help for him/her.

Hope you find your car by the way!

Sorry your getting abuse for posting a pic about losing your car. I do hope you have found it by now? Just cos the lad goes on holiday doesn’t mean he is rich OR that mum and dad have bought him anything…and even if they did, what does it matter to you? How does his lifestyle affect you? Get a life and either be supportive or shut up. Did your parents not ever advise you that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all!!!!
