Last week almost 200 of you responded to our 2015 Letting Agency survey. Here is the first part of the results.

After SUSU named and shamed the best and worst letting agencies from their own survey, we wanted to find out a bit more about what makes students tolerate or hate their agencies.

student houses

Having decided that average rent was irrelevant, we picked three factors that make a letting agency ideal; reasonable agency fees (under £75), quick response to issues (less than three days), and not pressuring tenants to renew into a second year of their contract.

The overall average rating was a very mild 5.7 out of 10, although just 10% of you felt pressured to renew your contract.

We’ll look at the worst ranked agencies later this week, but first, here’s the ranking of the agencies that consistently fared well above the average.

Note: There were many private landlords with individual tenants who scored very highly, but we will not be including them because we’ve never heard of them.
