Student dating website ShagAtUni has crowned Exeter Uni undergrad Elina Desaine “Britain’s Horniest Student.”

The Latvian-born IT and Business Management student admits to having sex “most nights” with up to 2 or 3 different guys a week, and has nicknamed herself “Slutvian.” Her prize for winning the title was £500, a phone, alcohol and a year’s supply of condoms.

In her competition entry Desaine went into detail about the “shag list” that she keeps, wowing judges by claiming

Sometimes I go clubbing, have sex with someone, and then go back to the club to pick up my second victim.

Desaine told ShagAtUni she’d had two sexual partners before arriving at ‘Sexeter’ and being ‘sharked’ as a fresher. In light of her recent antics, her flatmates took her for a chlamydia test, which came back negative. She says:

My one rule is if the guy hasn’t got a condom, he isn’t shagging me.

Her antics in the computer room with members of Exeter’s Computer Science Club may even get her into trouble with her University, who have ruled that ‘personal or recreational use of the IT facilities may be subject to temporary or permanent suspension’.

Now in her third year, Elina has been ‘trying her hand at sharking’ and describes the award as her proudest achievement.

SUSU’s Wellbeing officer Josh Cox told The Tab his advice to Southampton students:

Certainly have as much sex as you like but, like Elina, make sure you use condoms!

I love how feminism is used as a way to justify pretty much anything these days.

if I went around having sex with hundreds of women and claiming “i’m just enjoying my sexuality,because i’m a strong independent man” people would smell that bullshit a mile off.

As long as you’re safe, having sex with consenting women and not being in any way horrible about it (like lying to get them into bed), then there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having sex with as many women as you’d like. Feminism wouldn’t have any problem with this.

You appear to be somebody who enjoys a good rage against feminism without ever looking to the remarkable nuance in its range of thought and social critique, which makes you intellectually disingenuous, but you’re probably a man who’ll jump through the hoops in to a 2:1 and a salaried job, so I’m sat here wondering why you feel threatened by feminism…

Try all you like to justify sexism with hollow talk but I’m not buying it for a second. Trying to slander all feminism as endorsing rape is so stupid I wondered if I should even dignify it with a response, but its pure lies and slander, so somebody should say something.

I am all in favour of feminism in as much as I whole wholeheartedly believe that all men and women are created equally and deserve equal rights. In my opinion a feminist is someone who shares the belief thay no one should ever be limmited in their career or opportunities because of their gender.

To put this in the case of a story. My grandma durig the second world war was told that her place was at home and that she she couldn’t serve for her country. Being that she came from a poorer background she also did not have the necessary qualifications to work in logistics or military intelligence either. So what she did was to join the Waf and install radar units into fighter planes. Dispite a lot of criticism from men saying it was not a womans place to do this, she both served her country and gained herself an enginering qualification and a good wage. Showing that women were completely capable of independent.

If my younger sister who is around 10 ever asked me about feminism and how she can grow to be a strong woman who can forge her own path in this world. Im pretty sure I would tell her that story rather than . “Just go around shagging loads of people because and become britains horniest student, then you will gain the respect of your peers and potential employers”.

There’s a massive difference between the dictionary definition of feminism and Southampton FemSoc’s view of feminism.

I’m interested by what you mean by this. Could you expand? What meetings have you been to where femsoc has come across as different from the ‘standard’ definition? Or which members of the committee have said something? Genuinely asking.

Everyone can do what they like but big mistake on her part going for all this publicity. All future employers/ boyfriends/ prospective parents-in-law will be able to find this info online now and it will f**k her up later in life.

Also – I am a Latvian girl – don’t appreciate the ‘Slutvian’ bit. It will impact how other Latvian women are perceived, and we hardly have the best rep as is.
