A Southampton teenager was robbed at the popular Lodge Road Tesco cashpoint.
The incident took place shortly after 1am on Wednesday 11 February.
The assailant struck while the girl entered her PIN number into the machine, pushing her aside, then withdrawing £200 for himself. The victim was unharmed, and no weapon was used in the attack, according to Hampshire Constabulary’s report.
The incident is of concern to students in the area due to the popularity of the cashpoint’s location- just a stone’s throw away from the Bevois strip, containing Jesters, Sobar, and The Hobbit.
The suspect is described as:
-A white man
-In his late teens or early twenties
-About 5ft 6ins tall
-Medium build
-Clean shaven
-Pale complexion
-Short, mousey brown hair
-It’s possible he had a freckle or mole on his face
-He was wearing a black coat and dark coloured jeans
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the event, or anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.
